Options price more movement than the tape has delivered

Funding sits balanced across BTC, ETH and SOL, with no venue leaning hard in either direction. The tension is in the vol surface: BTC and ETH both carry implied above realized, meaning the market is paying up for movement the tape has not produced.

Positioning & volatility

AssetFunding (blended)25Δ skewImplied / realized volOpen interest
BTC+10% (HL +10 / OKX +11)-4.734 / 30.5$2.07B
ETH+4% (HL -0 / OKX +7)-1.748.4 / 41.4$1.83B
SOL+11% (HL +11 / OKX +11)n/an/a / 39.5$0.29B

Funding annualized; negative means shorts pay longs. 25Δ risk reversal in vol points; negative means downside hedged. Snapshots, not positions.

The crowd read is quiet. BTC funding is balanced and the two venues agree at +9.8 and +10.9, SOL the same story at +10.5 and +10.9, no one crowded. Where the signals speak is vol. BTC implied runs 3.5 points over realized, ETH implied 7.0 points over, so options on both are pricing more chop than the tape actually served. Skew is mildly negative on both (-4.7 BTC, -1.7 ETH), a light bid for downside protection rather than panic. So you have calm positioning paired with options that are still expensive relative to what's happened.

ETH shows a wide HL/OKX funding split, -0.4 against +7.5, but that's a cross-venue carry dislocation, not the crowd picking sides. The premium reads balanced, and Hyperliquid's rate swings on its own mechanics. The real ETH signal is vol running 7 points rich to realized.

What the prediction markets believe

The BTC Kalshi ladder is pinned: $60,000 and $58,000 both at 100%, $66,000 at 1%, all within half a point of fair. No event edge to trade here.

On-chain vs Wall Street

GME on-chain prices the open at +33bp against its usual +1264bp baseline, a 1231bp deviation lower, by far the day's biggest dislocation from normal. Everything else sits close to its baseline: PLTR and NVDA lean modestly rich, MSFT, GOOGL and AMZN a touch soft, none of it a real move.

StockLast closeToken vs last close
GME$19+33 bp
PLTR$141+296 bp
NVDA$207+128 bp
MSFT$488-169 bp
GOOGL$372-112 bp
AMZN$284-221 bp

Bottom line

Watch whether realized vol catches up to the implied premium on BTC and ETH or the options bleed back toward the tape. Funding staying balanced through the open keeps this a vol story. The GME token collapsing off its baseline is the one on-chain print worth tracking into the session.
